Fireplace Integration & Scribe Fitment
For the fireplace built-ins, the primary design challenge was flanking the masonry fireplace with seamless built-ins that appeared original to the home. The fireplace masonry had natural variances, requiring Roger's team to scribe-cut the cabinet casings manually.
By trimming the solid wood backing to follow the exact contours of the stone, we achieved an airtight fitment with zero gaps. The units were anchored directly into the structural studs behind the plaster, guaranteeing permanent stability.
Mortised Adjustable Shelves & Soft-Close Storage
To provide maximum versatility, we built adjustable vertical shelf tracks. Rather than surface-mounting metal pilasters, we mortised the tracks directly into the maple cabinet frames for a completely flush, high-end look.
The lower cabinets feature deep drawer and cabinet storage utilizing soft-close hidden hinges. This allows the family to conceal media equipment, routing all cabling internally behind the casings to keep the focus entirely on the display.
