Contemporary Slate Flooring Layout & Levelling
For the master bathroom, we designed a contemporary industrial-chic wet space. We started by installing deep slate tile floors. Slate is naturally irregular in thickness, so Roger's team applied a self-leveling underlayment to the subfloor before laying the tiles.
We used a premium medium-bed mortar and kept the grout lines to a precise 3/8-inch, creating a clean, rustic grid that anchors the design and prevents tile cracking.
Industrial Concrete-Texture Wall Panel Fabrication
The shower walls feature custom concrete-textured wall panels, providing an industrial loft aesthetic. Behind these panels, the wall framing was reinforced with heavy-duty structural bracing to prevent flexing.
The panels were sealed at the base and corners with custom-colored high-flexibility polyurethane caulking to prevent water ingress and provide an expansive feel.
Matte-Black Multi-Spray Shower Enclosure System
The shower is equipped with a high-performance, matte-black multi-spray system featuring 4 coordinate jet outlets. This plumbing installation required running a new 3/4-inch copper water supply loop instead of standard 1/2-inch pipes.
This upgrade ensures stable water pressure and heat even when all body sprays and the main rain head are running simultaneously, delivering a true spa-like experience.
Hardware Trim Integration & Leak Prevention
All hardware components, including the custom frameless glass pivots, support bar, and drain trim, are finished in a coordinating matte-black.
We installed a hot-mopped asphalt pan liner below the concrete-texture floor base, sloped at a 1/4-inch per foot angle to guarantee flawless drainage and 100% leak protection behind the walls.
