Large Format Tile Alignment & Spatial Layout
For the guest bathroom, the design objective was to maximize the visual space of a compact footprint. Roger's team achieved this by installing 12x24 large-format porcelain wall tiles in a clean stack bond pattern.
To ensure absolute precision, we ran a laser alignment check across all walls, leveling the first row of tiles on a custom ledger board before proceeding upward, ensuring zero line deviation.
Modern Floating Vanity Installation & Plumbing Rough-In
We replaced the outdated cabinet structure with a modern, space-saving floating vanity. Mounting a floating vanity securely requires heavy-duty structural blocking.
The team opened up the drywall, anchored a solid 2x8 wood support brace directly to the wall studs, and re-patched the wall. The plumbing drains were rerouted upward to remain completely concealed inside the vanity's custom storage drawers.
Custom Recessed Shower Niches & Waterproofing System
To provide clean storage without cluttering the walk-in shower area, we built two custom recessed niches into the framing. The niches are fully integrated with a Schluter-Kerdi waterproofing system, preventing any moisture penetration into the wall cavity.
The sills of both niches are sloped slightly forward using solid quartz pieces to prevent standing water, ensuring a clean, long-lasting, mold-free shower.
